Returning to mail art after 25 years, I wondered how the practice had changed. Still Fluxus, Neoist, Dada, and cultural criticism? Or will it be more Art-For-Art’s-Sake? So I devised a mail artists survey, the Mail Art Continuum. It presented a range of 4 mail art styles and asked people to put a dot on their art style. We sent out the surveys, and received about 50 returns in the second half of 2023. 

To wrap up the project, we published the Mail Art Continuum Project, an Art Investigation published by The Crevicist Institute. It summarizes the project and findings from mail artists’ responses to our question. Serious or Not Serious…you decide.
